Brother Dr. Jack Jenkins

Psychologist and Dean

Brother Dr. Jack O. Jenkins is the first President of the Coalition of West Georgia Alphas and a Founder of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter seated at Carrollton, Harlson, and Douglas Counties. He was initiated in the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. through the Iota Chapter (Morris Brown College) in 1967.

Brother Jenkins was born in Savannah, Georgia. After serving in the military, Brother Jenkins completed his Master of Science in 1974 and his Ph. D. in 1976 at the University of Georgia both in clinical psychology becoming the second African American to earn a Ph.D. in the department’s history. Because of his academic performance, he was awarded a full scholarship to attend Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1970. Brother Dr. Jenkins, in 1987 became the first African American and founding dean of the Graduate School at the University of West Georgia. After almost three decades leading the Graduate School, he became the first special assistant to the President for institutional diversity and held this position until his retirement in 2012.

In addition to serving as dean and special assistant to the President, he worked closely with students as the advisor for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.-Nu Gamma (University of West Georgia), United Voices Gospel Choir, Black Student Union (B.S.U.), and the N.P.H.C. organizations.

In the community, among other services, Dr. Jenkins served as an ordained United Methodist pastor and founding member of B.E.S.T. – Black Men Encouraging Success Today.


Brother Dr. George Rolle

Educator and Counseling Psychologist

Brother Dr. George Rolle (L.M. #5374) was born in Miami, Florida in 1940. He attended and graduated from High School in 1958. He and two other African-Americans integrated the University of Miami in 1963. At the University of Miami, Rolle earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology. He earned his Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology in 1975 at Georgia State University.

Brother Dr. Rolle is a Founding Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. after serving as the Historian for the Coalition of West Georgia Alphas. He is a Fall 1985 initiate of the Eta Lambda Chapter seated in Atlanta, Georgia. Before founding the Rho Pi Lambda chapter, he, as mentioned, held membership in the Eta Lamba and Theta Nu Lambda seated in LaGrange, Georgia. Brother Dr. Rolle served as chapter advisor to the Nu Gamma chapter (dechartered) at the University of West Georgia. Bro. Dr. Rolle has the distinction of being Rho Pi Lambda’s first President and first Founder to serve as President.


Brother Dr. Price Michael

Educator and Dean

Brother Dr. Price Michael was born in Southern Pines, N.C. on March 24, 1936 and later moved with his family to Knoxville, TN. Brother Dr. Michael attended and graduated from Austin High School in 1954. He continued his matriculation at Knoxville College. While a student at the college, he was initiated in the Gamma Omicron chapter in 1957. Brother Dr. Michael graduated from Knoxville College with a B.S. in Education in 1957. He continued earning a Master’s in Education and a Ph.D in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Cincinnati.

Brother Dr. Michael’s professional career spans over forty-five years. He began as a teacher in the Cincinnati Public Schools system and quickly ascended the ranks to become a Principal. In 1979, Brother Dr. Michael accepted a position as Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. In 1987, Brother Dr. Michael was invited to join the faculty at West Georgia as Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Director of the joint Doctoral program with The University of Georgia. Under his leadership, the Department of Educational Leadership became one of the top ten programs in the United States. Brother Dr. Michael retired as the Dean of the College of Education at the University of West Georgia in 2012.

Brother Dr. Michael (L.M. #3885) is a founding Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. after serving as the Recording Secretary for the Coalition of West Georgia Alphas. He served as the Chair of the committee to write the chapter’s constitution and as the chapter’s first Treasurer. He is a 1954 initiate of Gamma Omicron chapter seated at Knoxville College were he served as chapter President. Brother Michael continued to be active in the Brotherhood after college: President in Cincinnati, OH (Delta Gamma Lambda), a member of Theta Nu Lambda Chapter (Lagrange, GA. and served as college of advisor of (Nu Gamma) at the University of West Georgia. Brother Michael provided leadership in the founding of the present college Chapter at the University of West GA (Tau Chi). He has been an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha for over 65 years.


Brother Jermaine Jackson

Corporate Executive

Brother Jermaine Jackson was initiated into the Xi Beta Chapter at Troy University in 2000 and is an active Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter, Carrollton GA. Brother Jackson is a founder of Rho Pi Lambda where he has served in various leadership roles. He is the CEO/President of the chapter’s charitable arm, The Goldstar Scholarship Foundation. Additionally, he serves on The Georgia District Board of Directors, The Alpha Georgia Education Foundation, Inc., and various regional and national committees.

 Brother Jackson has been employed with Walmart Global Headquarters for twenty years in various senior level leadership roles throughout his career. Corporately, Jackson has served on The Walmart Foundation Board ; Georgia NAACP Corporate Board; U.S. Chamber of Commerce; Children Miracle Network, United Way; Society for Human Resources Management; American Association for Access, Equity, and Diversity; and National Black MBA Association.   

Brother Jackson’s civic and philanthropic involvement includes Rotary Club; Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta Executive Board; American Heart Association Southeast Multicultural Board; University of West Georgia’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s Corporate Advisory Board; March of Dimes Leadership Executive Board; 100 Black Men of America; American Management Association; and the Center for African American Research , Success, and Leadership. Jackson has been recognized and won numerous awards highlighting his achievements.

Brother Jackson has earned degrees from The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flager Business School, Alabama State University, and Troy University. Jackson is a native of Huntsville, AL and resides in Atlanta, GA metro area. 


Brother Jonathan Beverly

Brother Jonathan Beverley (L.M. # 11468) is a Chartering Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is a Fall 2000 initiate of the Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter (Key #42), seated in Norfolk, Virginia, and currently affiliates with the Iota Upsilon Lambda Chapter (Key #520) in Silver Spring, Maryland.

During his years in Alpha, Jonathan helped reactivate the Kappa Pi Chapter (Key #434), seated at the College of William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Before sojourning in Douglasville, he held membership in the Zeta Lambda Chapter (Key #106) in Newport News, Virginia. Jonathan has membership in several professional, civic, and social organizations, such as the National Black M.B.A. Association, N.S.B.E., IEEE, N.A.A.C.P., and Prince Hall Freemasonry (33º).

Brother Beverley graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, a double minor in Psychology and Management, and a Master of Science in Management with an emphasis in Information Systems and Services. Jonathan has spent the past 25 years working in the Information Technology field.


Brother Reverend Charles White

Brother Reverend Charles White is a Chartering Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is a Fall 2003 initiate of the Eta Lambda Chapter, seated in Atlanta, Georgia, and currently affiliates with the Delta Zeta Lambda Chapter in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Before the chartering of Rho Pi Lambda, Bro. White served as the Chaplain for the Coalition of West Georgia Alphas.

Rev. White is a native of the Sea Islands of Charleston, SC. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education from Gammon Theological Seminary of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. The Rockwood Leadership Institute selected White as one of 24 progressive executive management leaders for the 2013-14 Leaders from the Inside Out Fellowship Program designed to strengthen senior leadership in the non-profit section.

For over 30 years, Brother Rev. White worked tirelessly as an advocate for social justice with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.) rising through the ranks from a youth council president to Regional Director of the Southeast Region to National Field Director and Director of Field Operations.


Brother Antonio Burkes


Brother Dr. Said Sewell

Brother Dr. Said Sewell has the celebrated honor and distinction of being the principal visionary for the Coalition of West Georgia Alphas and the Rho Pi Lambda chapter. His warmth and outgoing personality combined along with being a new professor (Political Science) and having a strong desire to interact with other African-American male professors at the University of West Georgia for the betterment of himself and the African-American students, propelled him to spearhead the movement that led to the Founding of the chapter.

Brother Dr. Sewell, a native of Houston, Texas, began his college journey at 16 and graduated from Morehouse College in 1992 with a B.A. in political science. He earned a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy from the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern University and a Ph. D. from Clark Atlanta University in Political Science. Brother Dr. Sewell augmented his educational experiences by completing Indiana University’s Lilly School of Philanthropy’s Certificate of Fund Raising Management, and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education’s Institute for Educational Management and Divinity School. Brother Dr. Sewell has worked in higher education for over two decades.

Brother Dr. Sewell (L.M. #8894) was initiated into the Alpha Eta Lambda chapter seated in Houston, Texas. Brother Dr. Sewell has been an active brother for 30 years: Vice President, Recording Secretary, Chaplain, Director of Reclamation, and college advisor of Mu Alpha (Emory University) for Nu Mu Lambda Chapter (Dekalb County, Georgia), along with serving as the Past National Chairman for the fraternity’s Leadership Development Institute (L.D.I.). Brother Dr. Sewell was the Southern Region Brother of the Year in 2001. Brother Dr. Sewell also has the distinction of being the second President and the second Founder to serve as President of the Rho Pi Lambda chapter.


Brother Chiedu Areh

Brother Chiedu Areh is a Chartering Brother of the Rho Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is a Spring 2007 initiate of the Pi Gamma Lambda Chapter seated in Clayton County, Georgia.

Brother Areh is a native of Onitsha, Nigeria. His family immigrated to the United States while he was a toddler and eventually settled in the southern suburbs of metro Atlanta. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of West Georgia while being involved with African American Male Initiative and the Student Government.

Brother Areh has spent the last 15 years working in operations enablement in the technology industry, specifically in companies that provide software as a service. Brother Areh has served on various committees through his time in Alpha and in various roles within Rho Pi Lambda, notably chapter Historian.
